ARISTA MOVES INTO TAXI SECTOR MARKET WITH KENT
BROKER
The commercial lines underwriting organisation Arista has launched its first scheme
with the development of a tailored taxi product through Robert Nott Insurance Brokers.
This move follows the company’s recent launch and the appointment of Simon
Henderson as head of schemes.
The taxi scheme is expected to offer Robert Nott’s customers greater choice while generating
an expected £1m gross written premiums for Arista during the first year.
Dennis Wheeler, Director at Robert Notts said: “We decided to expand our panel of insurers on
the taxi scheme and chose Arista for its ambitious plans and service. The quality of their support
staff and underwriters together with their speed of response and policy delivery meant that they
were an obvious choice to join our established panel of insurers.”
Arista CEO Charles Earle said: “We are delighted to be working with such a well-known and
respected broker and to be able to compete on an even keel with established competitors,
despite our youth. We are not constrained by legacy systems in how we trade with brokers and
so can focus on their needs rather than our own and adapt to different approaches to business
delivery and distribution. In this way we are able to offer brokers and their customers a genuine
chance to work with an insurance provider that will give a responsive and competitive service.
“This may be the first Arista scheme, but it certainly won’t be the last that we launch in 2007.”
Arista, launched last year by Charles Earle and Deputy CEO Lyn Carslake, is focusing on
broker-administered commercial business in the UK and intends to arrange agencies with a
select panel of independent brokers throughout 2007. In the medium to long term the new
venture will have the capacity to write in excess of £250 million worth of business.
